Artist Statement
Influenced from over a decade of collective art practice & activist politics from her time as an collective member and volunteer at ABC No Rio, her work frequently addresses issues related to social, political and economic ideas; challenging conventional aesthetics of art making by walking a fine line of what is considered art or activism. The concept for the work is often sought outside of or constructed beyond the studio, located in the world where the ideas can be found working to transcend the usual platform in which, art is viewed, displayed, or engaged through participation hence using the artwork as a platform to create visibility or awareness. |
